Having no experience of meditation or mindfulness, I did not know what to expect from the sessions. What I found was an oasis of peace and calm away from the hectic pace of life. I learnt exercises and strategies which have proved very helpful. Alison and Andrew are kind, gentle people who are very welcoming and explain the theory and practice clearly. I thoroughly recommend the course. CM.

As someone with an energy depleting chronic illness, I have always found Andrew and Alison's teaching style supportive and accommodating to my needs. Often in class I will sit and visualise doing the Qigong movements rather than physically moving (many studies show the benefits visualising movement has for the body and mind) whilst connecting to the energy being created by the rest of the class. As classes are always relaxed and friendly, I never feel embarrassed by my physical limitations and depart classes uplifted and relaxed. Between lessons I focus on one or two of the movements and elements of a meditation (also taught as part of the class) allowing me to take Andrew and Alison's teachings into my daily life. Highly recommend regardless of where you are with your health. C.

I completed Tygwyn’s wellbeing course after undergoing chemotherapy and surgery following a breast cancer diagnosis. I was keen to work on my mental and emotional well being as I knew that this would play a big part in my physical health moving forwards. I had always been a worrier and knew that I needed to find a way to calm my anxieties and live in the present. I had tentatively started to make use of apps to guide me through short meditations but knew that I needed to learn how to meditate “properly” if I were to incorporate it into my daily life. I was also keen to try Qigong and this is how I stumbled across Tygwyn Wellbeing. Following a brief chat with Andrew on the phone I knew that I had found the right people and enrolled on their course straight away. I cannot recommend both Alison and Andrew and their courses highly enough. I felt instantly at ease in their company and looked forward to my weekly sessions with them. As a result of their course I have successfully incorporated meditation and mindfulness into my daily life and will, as a result, always be thankful for my time spent with Andrew and Alison and all that I learnt in their company. I had been practising meditation for relaxation and stress reduction for a few years but I didn't know where to take it from there. Andrew and Alison's insight course led through a series of different meditation practices which helped me better understand the possibilities of meditation beyond mindful stress reduction. Working with their meditations has helped me to develop greater insight into myself, others and my place in the world around me. Andrew and Alison are warm, compassionate, knowledgeable and friendly guides. I cannot recommend the course enough for the meditator who wants to explore this ancient heritage in greater depth. I found this course really valuable, it helped me to be more aware of the clatter and noise persistently draining my energies not allowing me to switch off from my job! To unhitch the constant reminders of trying to solve problems in what should be me time or our time when home. To relax, meditate and on plenty of occasions actually fell asleep. I really enjoyed the different meditations and how you choose the best options that suit you best. Very knowledgable couple who are able to tune into your strengths and where you need help. Would highly recommend. Jackie

Having always suffered with anxiety and depression I came to meditation classes hoping to find another tool to help me understand my hectic brain! Andrew and Alison are excellent supportive teachers and I now have a daily meditation practice which has changed the way I see myself and the rest of the world! The drop in group is a safe and friendly place to help maintain my practice and chat over a cup of tea! The whole experience has been brilliant and think it is something that anyone could benefit from. JS

I attended two courses by Tygwyn Wellbeing and found them both interesting and helpful. Being a sufferer of stress the meditation component has been particularly useful helping me to learn and practice techniques with a good grounding in the principles of meditation. It has been great fun and I would thoroughly recommend it. John

I joined Alison's and Andrew's Tygwyn Wellbeing course- Meditation and Mindfulness initially out of curiosity. I enjoyed the course. The meditation and exercises were easy to follow and with regular practice I found they helped with everyday stress and anxiety. The drop-in sessions following the course have been helpful in reinforcing the strategies learned and I would recommend anyone to give it a try for helping with inner peace and contentment and a greater awareness of the good things around us. As a man in his late 40s reflecting on the demands of career, family, bereavement, I needed help to get out of the difficult place I found myself in. Andrew took the time to understand my position and circumstances. He helped me calm the noise and find the space to relax and to focus. After 8 weeks working with Andrew, I felt (and still do feel) a lot better. I still face a lot of issues but the course has helped me enormously, gave me tools that I continue to use, and I can't recommend Andrew and Alison highly enough. MJ

Having attended a course with Tygwyn Wellbeing I can only add my praise to the content of it. I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect but to my surprise my eyes were opened up to the many ways the brain can be used in the simplest of exercises with the body. Mindfulness is an amazing tool for calm meditation coupled with the Qi-gong series of body exercises. I got a lot of help from the course in terms of mind discipline and relaxation, this is something you can use anytime it suits you in a busy lifestyle. I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience another way of looking after their mind and body in a very positive way. Peter

I have taken both the Meditation and Mindfulness for health and wellbeing and insight courses with Tygwyn Wellbeing. I found the courses to be enjoyable as well as extremely useful and indeed transformative. I maintain a daily mindfulness practice five years on. Andrew and Alison are very professional as well as skilled and compassionate trainers. I have recommended their courses to many people and will continue to do so. Sarah

I had been reading about mindfulness and using bits and bobs about the same. But doing the proper 8-week course with Andrew and Alison was the best step forward. The course not only helped with different aspects of awareness but also the different meditation techniques. Overall I finished the course feeling better and confident about using mindfulness in the daily routine. I would highly recommend doing this course. Shilpa

I searched for a Mindfulness class locally as I am quite an anxious person and thought I might find this type of thing of benefit to me. Tygwyn was very convenient  as local to me, so I signed up.  I was very nervous but Alison & Andrew soon made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I found the course to be informative, easy to follow and overall very enjoyable. I learned a lot about meditation and a lot about myself. I would recommend this course to anyone with an interest in the subject, and particularly to anyone looking for inner peace or suffering from stress and/or anxiety. Yvonne
